EDOTCO, Telecom Infra Project, and Telkom University Collaborate to Revolutionize Telecommunications Landscape in Southeast Asia

Barcelona, Spain Telkom University (Tel-U) together with the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EDOTCO at the Malaysia Pavilion during the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona (27/02). The collaboration agreement was signed by Telkom University Rector Prof. Adiwijaya and EDOTCO Group CEO, Adlan Ahmad Tajudin, witnessed by H.E Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications of Malaysia, and Dr. Ir. Ismail, the Director General of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia.


This collaboration focuses on creating a neutral host ecosystem, enabling smooth connectivity across various networks. The collaboration will leverage open and separate network technology standards to enhance digital experiences for businesses and consumers. EDOTCO's experience in providing end-to-end solutions and TIP's collaborative community approach can accelerate innovation in telecommunications infrastructure. The TIP Community Lab at Tel-U will serve as a hub for testing and validating innovations, bringing together researchers, industries, and startups to develop commercially viable products and services.


Tel-U Rector, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, expressed his enthusiasm for partnering with the Edotco Group and Telecom Infra Project (TIP) to accelerate telecommunications innovation in Southeast Asia.


"This collaboration will create a telecommunications ecosystem that leverages open and separate network technology standards, driving innovation both technologically and commercially. Consistent with the role of the TIP Community Lab as a center of excellence at Tel-U, which currently functions as a location for technology, regulation, and business research as well as testing and validation for Open RAN solutions," explained Adiwijaya.


EDOTCO Group CEO, Adlan Ahmad Tajudin, appreciates this collaboration, stating that it is an opportunity for EDOTCO to work together with TIP and Tel-U in driving change in the telecommunications sector.


"By combining our industry expertise with innovative solutions, we aim to redefine the digital landscape and create a future where connectivity is not only advanced but also inclusive. Together, we are committed to nurturing a digital future that transcends boundaries, ensures accessibility, and opens up new possibilities for evolving needs in Southeast Asia," said Adlan.


TIP Executive Director, Kristian Toivo, emphasized that neutral host technology can have a significant impact on the telecommunications sector in Southeast Asia.


"This collaboration is a transformative step for the telecommunications landscape in Southeast Asia. The commitment forged between EDOTCO, TIP, and Tel-U has a vision to unlock new possibilities beyond conventional connectivity boundaries, positioning Southeast Asia at the forefront of the global digital revolution," explained Kristian.


It is hoped that this collaboration will mark the beginning of a transformation partnership aimed at driving innovation, connectivity, and inclusivity across the region. Thus, in the future, a telecommunications ecosystem utilizing open and separate network technology standards can foster innovation in both technology and business fields.
